Exceptionally well organised, brilliant facilities and incredible marshals and support!
Every single marshal without fail was so encouraging, thank you! Thorough well organised event in an ideal location. Slick organisation, with registering, bag drop, etc and loved option for showers after. Quiet zone really appreciated and can see it's evident from work with sheraces that things been put in place...I was grateful to know more loos on route for example. First time at Abingdon and came as part of the England/Wales masters race, and although was a long way to come it was well worth it and I'd recommend to
everyone....great work team, thanks for a brilliant day!

Have run it twice now, I'm sure I'll be returning again next year!
Minor point that you're probably well aware of. The run back up to Tilsley Park at the end is made even worse by the exhaust fumes of the cars slowly making their way down the hill to the roundabout. I'm sure nothing can be done about it, but it makes it that bit more unpleasant at the end of a marathon to be hit by all the exhaust fumes :-(

Didn't like the open roads and running on paths.
The medal was nice. However that was my first and last time i will do this race.

Fantastic!
This was my 2nd marathon, 1st time doing Abingdon and was really impressed with the setup at Tylsley as well as the route, Marshalls and water stations spaced out, it was perfect and a huge thank you for a great event!
Linda Tyler
Very well organised marathon with great support
Super facilities at the start and finish.
Gently undulating, relatively fast course.
Congestion at the start - would have been good to have had guidance on where to stand
Giles Horridge
It is a very good event
Suzanne Swaine
Great marathon with a low-key no frills club feel.
Lovely flat scenic course. Beware there are a few short sections on footpaths that are uneven/traily underfoot (I enjoyed them!) and there are some twists and turns (including an underpass) in the last few miles which are hard on tired legs. The marshals are fabulous, doing a great job managing a race on mostly open roads.

Super duper event
Really lovely event atmosphere, great race village with all expected amenities. This event has so many friendly marshals, it’s fantastic. Really good course markers and mileage signs too. Very regular water stations. Only 1 basic food station so if you are a bit slower, carry your own food to supplement. Would be better if all the water stations had a jug for filling water flasks up but most runners just use the cups.
Wonderful race, the best marathon in the UK, thank you Abingdon team
Very friendly and supportive , great organisation and a special atmosphere , huge congrats to the Abingdon marathon volunteer team , you should be very proud of such a wonderful race
Emily Antcliffe
Very flat course
Really enjoy this one - 6 hour cut off may make it a bit out of reach for some but great for PB chasers
David Green
Good, fast marathon but beware of the queue for the toilets.
While queueing for the toilets the announcer kept telling us to take our bags to the bag drop. An equally long queue. Telling us the bag drop was about to close while queueing for the loos just added unnecessary pressure.
Christina Sleet
Good event, longest portaloo queue I’ve ever seen!
Finish area unorganised, no funnel. After crossing the finish line I didn’t know where to go, the refreshments were off to the side. I left the area through a barrier without having a drink. Then went back in to get some water. I didn’t see any exit signs or get a goody bag. I did really appreciate the changing room and showers post race. Also parking was inadequate, not enough capacity had to park in a side street. Nice medal. Bit disappointed with no goody bag
Simon Madigan
Great event, really well organised
Jeffrey Stoker
Excellent, Flat, Very Well organised
Cathy Ulliott
Brilliantly marshalled ,aided and supported by local community.
Complementary hot drink at the end was very welcome.
Honestly I can’t praise this event fully enough.
It was so professional but also good humoured.
Grateful my number didn’t disintegrate in the rain as they did reportedly at the great south run
alasdair leslie
professional but with a nice low key feel and excellent vibe.
Neil Dunthorn
well marshalled especially over road crossings
George Dobbie
