Brilliantly organised, real community feel.
Although “low key” this marathon was exceptionally well organised and not opening it up to too many people meant the toilet and shower facilities were great. I really enjoyed and we may be back!

Loved this event. Wpic
Friendly supportive Marshalls, catered well for females with regards to toilets. Loads of water stations, loved the station with oranges and bananas. This is a great marathon!
Sally Bovill
A wonderful marathon, brilliantly organised by fantastic volunteers.
Today was my fourth marathon and my first Abingdon marathon. The race was brilliantly organised - clear pre-race comms, clear signage at the race village, and well marshalled. A few more toilets would have been good and the start was a bit congested, think organising racers into pace groups or using pace signs at the start could help. Overall very minor points and I would definitely recommend this race.

Marshall's and local support from spectators and runners is superb
5 stars

Enthusiastic marshals on a flattish fast course
Enjoyed my morning in Abingdon but surely you could have more portaloos near the start? Having to wait 25 minutes when the baggage tent is about to close and the race ready to get underway is too long? Very annoying waste of time.
On a personal note I didn’t enjoy running on the pavements with the camber from left to right; it made my left leg ache…a good reason to run on the road. A one lap course would be more desirable but I’m guessing that’s impractical.
I was pleased to get from the waiting list into the event….that worked well.
All in all an enjoyable despite my minor moans!

Great well-organised event with wonderful support for all the runners.
A big thank you to all the marshals and behind the scenes volunteers putting the infrastructure in place, especial commendation to the traffic marshals halting the traffic at junctions so we could whizz through and the guy announcing everyone as they approached the finish line, makes it all very friendly and special.
Steve Pilgrim
Fantastic organisation. Loads of super-friendly marshals.
Being a mainly flat course, it really helps runners to maintain even pacing and great for PBs.
Nigel Haywood
Friendly, well-organised, fantastic volunteers, great course. A real gem.
This was my first Abingdon marathon, but my 96th overall. I thought the England v Wales event fitted into it extremely well.
Martin Green
An amazing marathon put on by runners for runners and give the money away to charity which is a massive rarity nowadays
Highly recommended
Claire Mullin
Very friendly, well organised, runners supporting runners
There were even sanitary products in the porta-loos!
Amy Van Zyl
Excellent event - well organised and great marshals
Loads of water/fuel stations and changing rooms!
Douglas Hodgkinson
Well organised with a lovey route
Colin Millar-Watt
Great atmosphere, quite serious
Mike Cocks
Excellent event - wouldn't hesitate to recommend
The Marshalls - and all other volunteers I came into contact with - were Second To None. Very supportive and positive, which really helped on the less populated parts of the course. Cannot thank them all enough (at least, I couldn't after mile 20!)
Christopher Ward
Brilliant organisation and wonderful volunteers.
The only thing that I would have preferred would be to have premixed energy drinks on course.
Tim Bentley
Really fast course, friendly event
Great that the cups had more water in this year and the bananas weren’t terribly under ripe
Ian Hunter
Excellent event.
John Boddington
Fast UK marathon where loads of PBs get set
Jayne Bevan
Awesome Marshalls
There is a great atmosphere and the Marshalls and aid stations are brilliant - the massive team of volunteers are totally awesome and they ‘make’ the event with their support and positivity 10/10

100% recommend!
This was my first marathon and I would highly recommend it! The event is perfect for those new to marathon running or for those aiming for a faster time. The course is flat and varied and really well supported with spectators. As the route involves looping back round, you have the opportunity to see your friends and family twice!
This is the only running event I’ve ever been to where the women’s toilet queue was shorter than the men’s, thanks to the additional women’s only toilets - a really lovely touch ☺️
